Pregnancy & Antenatal Care
About the Condition
Regular antenatal check-ups help keep both mother and baby healthy. At Healyn, pregnancy care is led by our obstetrician and gynaecologist, with scans, blood tests and advice planned around each stage of pregnancy.
Most women need monthly visits until around 28 weeks, every two weeks until 36 weeks and weekly after that, though your doctor may suggest a different plan. Visits usually include blood pressure, weight and urine checks, the baby’s growth and heartbeat, and the scans and blood tests recommended for your stage. Bring earlier reports and a list of medicines to your first visit so we can plan safely from day one.
Common Symptoms
Mild nausea, tiredness, back ache and frequent urination are common in pregnancy. Some symptoms, however, need same-day attention. If you notice any of the signs below, call us or come to the hospital straight away rather than waiting for your next appointment.
Diagnosis & Treatment at Healyn
Every pregnancy is different. Some mothers have conditions such as anaemia, thyroid problems, high blood pressure or gestational diabetes that need closer follow-up. Our gynaecologist reviews your history, examines you and orders the tests you need, explaining each result in simple language. Where a pregnancy is high risk or needs care we do not provide on-site, we tell you early and help arrange the right referral, so there are no surprises close to your due date.
When to See a Doctor
Book a visit early if you have a positive pregnancy test, or before planning a pregnancy if you have a medical condition.
How We Treat It
Care is planned around your stage of pregnancy and your health, with clear advice at every visit.
Recovery & Follow-up
With regular follow-up, most pregnancies progress smoothly and problems are picked up early. After delivery we continue to support you with postnatal check-ups, breastfeeding advice, family planning counselling and early care for your baby with our paediatrician. This guide is general information; always follow the advice your own doctor gives you.
